Commemorative for GEORGE THOMAS BROPHY Jr.

George Thomas Brophy Jr. was the Sales Manager at Franklin Paint Company from 1993 until 2008. He was born in Boston on August 14, 1940. He was brother to his older sister Mary and younger sisters Elaine and Joan. He graduated English High School in 1959 and attended Providence College. He met Lorraine Thompson on a New Year’s Eve blind date in 1961, they married in January 1964. George was an active member of the US Navy from 1963-1965.

George spent nine years through rain and shine with the US Postal Service. He started his career in traffic safety with own business in the early seventies. He enjoyed a long career in highway safety, maintenance and sales. His charm and charisma endeared him to all who encountered him in business and pleasure.

George, aka Georgie, Red (when he had hair), Curly and Baldy (when he didn’t), Gorgeous George, Gentleman George, Dad and most recently, Papa G, was a Dedham resident for 44 years. He enjoyed traveling with Lulu, playing golf, and bowling. He appreciated good food, good friends and good times, and dancing to ole' time rock & roll!

George was a family man, whose bravery and courage inspired all. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: his wife of 45 years, Lorraine Brophy, his children, Jeanne Brophy, Kathleen Graham, Michael Brophy and Matthew Brophy, son-in-law Kevin Graham, daughter-in-law Andrea Schrader and his dearest granddaughter, Leah Graham, as well as a host of family and friends who enjoyed his charm and his love of life.
